Joseph "Jerry" (Blackie) Vierra died peacefully on February 26, 2009, surrounded by his family and friends. Jerry was born on January 26, 1914, on Madeira Island, Portugal.

He is survived by Irma and his sons, Alexandro and Urai. Jerry spent his life joyously providing for his family. His sons will continue his legacy with the family business. His best days were enjoyed with friends at San Diego's waterfront.

Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 10th, 1:00 p.m. at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
