Estefania Cabral Tavares, (Avoa) Matriarch of five generations was born in Pico, Azores. In 1930, she joined her husband Antonio and settled into the Portuguese community of Point Loma. A tuna fisherman's wife, homemaker, wine maker, volunteer cook for decades at the SES Hall to name a few, her family was her life. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home with family, shy of her 102nd birthday. We love you! We can't imagine life without you! She is survived by her daughter Elvira Luz, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and four great-great-grand-children. Viewing: May 25th, 4 to 8 p.m., Rosary at 7 p.m., at Goodbody Mortuary, 5027 El Cajon Blvd. Funeral: May 26th, at 11 a.m., at Holy Cross Cemetery/Chapel.
