Carminha, 92, of University City, passed away peacefully November 21, 2008. She was born in Fuzeta, Portugal, and immigrated to San Diego in 1939. She was a homemaker and was totally devoted to her family who will miss her very much. Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Manuel J. Sousa, she is survived by her children, Manuel (Janice) Sousa and Teresa (Nick) Principato. She also leaves four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 30th, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Clairemont Mortuary, with recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 1st, at Our Mother of Confidence Church in University City. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum. The family suggests donations to San Diego Hospice or Rady Children's Hospital.
