Dec. 8, 1913 to May 21, 2010 Velma passed away on May 21, 2010 following a short illness with cancer. Member of Catholic Daughters, Cabrillo Civic Club #16, Volunteer with the Red Cross. Velma and her late husband Tony Silva took care of 38 foster children over the years. She is survived by her daughter Midge Day. She was a godmother to Marilouise Bee Noblet, Manny Silva, Tad Stanford, Jeanann Rogers, and Pamela Anderson. Velma touched all whom she knew and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Mass will be held on May 29, 2010, at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Agnes Church located at 1140 Evergreen St., San Diego, CA 92106. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Velma to San Diego Hospice, 4311 3rd Ave., San Diego, CA 92103
