Ramiro Pequeno passed peacefully at home on Friday, December 7, 2007. Born in 1916 in Paul Do Mar, Madeira Islands, Portugal. Pequeno arrived in San Diego in 1946, and was a commercial tuna fisherman for 30 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Dolores Silva Pequeno, his four children, Odette Moniz, Emily Silva, Mary Drake, Stephen Pequeno, 14 grandchildren, and 14 great- grandchildren. Services will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1140 Evergreen Street, San Diego, CA 92106 at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2007, Rosary to be followed with Mass. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Sharp Hospice in Ramiro's name.
