John D. Moniz, 84, of La Mesa died Thursday. He was born in San Miguel, Azores, Portugal, and was an accountant. He served in the Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, M. Lourdes Fonseca Moniz; daughter, Ann Archer; sister, Maria Julieta Carreiro; and brothers, Norbert Moniz, Fernando Moniz and Joseph Moniz.

Services: 9:30 a.m. Monday, graveside, El Cajon Cemetery, 2080 Dehesa Road, El Cajon.
