La Verne Monise-Day

La Verne Monise-Day, mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, passed away in hospice care, on Monday, September 14, 2009. She was born and raised in San Diego, in the Portuguese community of Point Loma. She was in the first class of Dana Junior High. Living not far from where she grew up, she lived in the same home since 1953, where she raised her three children. La Verne is survived by her children, Don Day, Mike Day, and Lori Day, her grandchildren, Christopher Day, Bryan Day, Brooke Day, and Loren Day, and one great-grandchild, Jordan Day. She loved having her children around, her nieces and nephews, drinking a good cup of coffee while reading the daily paper, going for long rides, eating out, and traveling with her sister to see Tom Jones. Memorial Services on Friday, September 25th, at 3 p.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1140 Evergreen Street. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Sharp Hospice, Park View Home, 5788 Lyden Way, San Diego, CA 92120.
