Maria Mauricio passed away peacefully on July 8, 2009, at her home in Point Loma surrounded by her family. Maria was born on October 13, 1914 in Madeira Island, Portugal. She is survived by her five children; sons, Adelino, Joe and Agostinho Mauricio, and daughters, Maria C. Gonsalves and Lucy Mauricio, all of Point Loma; grandchildren, Robert and Elisa Gonsalves, and great-granchild, Nicholas Gonsalves.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1140 Evergreen St., San Diego.
