Hallett Frances Madruga was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts in 1931. The Great Depression
brought the family here when no work could be found in Gloucester. Like his father, fishing
was what put food on the table. During his lifetime, he worked in many different industries including
owning his own businesses; Hal's Doughnut shop and running his own tuna fishing boat, the Mark II.
For a short while, he lived in Lake Tahoe where he worked as a security guard and shuttle bus driver.
He loved to dance, was one of the best dressed people in Point Loma. The Festa and The Fish Fry
were his favorite events at the hall.
His knack for being able to talk to people, no matter where you were from or what your education level, was uncanny.
Hallett is survived by his loving girlfriend, Pat, his three brothers
Anthony, Roy and Ed, four children Hallett, Kenny, Peter and Gary and his grandchildren Cory, Kaley,
Ryder, Shaley, Bree and Addy.
