Gertrude was born in New Bedford, MA on March 15, 1918 to Esmenia and Frank Brown. The family moved to San Diego in 1920. She attended Cabrillo Elementary and graduated from Point Loma High School in 1936. Gert worked in the tuna cannery and on October 15, 1939 married John Lauriano Sr. (deceased). Gert enjoyed bingo, bowling, the Padres and was a past treasurer of the S.P.R.S.I. Gert is survived by her sons John (Geri) and Richard (Barbara), four grandchildren, Karen (Tony), Steve, Heather (Bob) and Leesa. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Jordon, Anthony James, Trevor and Nicholas. Rosary and Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010, at St. Agnes Church in Point Loma followed by a private Burial Service for the family at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the S.E.S. Hall for the maintenance of the Chapel, which her father helped build.
