Vernon John Hiestand, age 58, of Otsego, MI, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, June 30, 2009 surrounded by his family. Vernon was born March 16, 1951, in Escondido, CA and has resided in this area for the past 25 years. Mr. Hiestand loved fishing and had worked as a dry wall hanger for 30 years. Surviving are his 3 daughters, Angela Morando, Christy Sousa and Celina Hiestand all of Clackamas, OR; his father, Elmer Hiestand of Bloomingdale; 8 grandchildren; a brother, Clark Hiestand of Wilkes Barre, PA; 2 sisters, Debbie Heistand of Otsego and Shirley Wilkens of TN; a nephew Christopher Scholtes of Otsego; 2 nieces, Terri Johnson of Fruita, CO and Allie Marie Hiestand of Otsego; and the mother of his daughters, Mary Oliveria of Clackamas, OR.

The family will meet friends Monday, July 6 from 6-8 PM at the BLOOMINGDALE CHAPEL, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM, Celebrant Timothy Secord officiating. Interment Robinson Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of South West Michigan.
