Al Freitas, AKA, Lino, 88, of San Diego, lost his battle with cancer on April 21, 2008. He was the widower of Clotilde Freitas. Born in New Bedford, MA, the son of the late Avelino and Maria Freitas. Al served in the U.S. Army. He moved to the Portuguese Community of Pt. Loma in 1957. He is survived by his children, Linda Amick, Deborah Self, Cheryl Bolovits of San Diego and David Freitas of Menifee; his sisters, Phil Arruda and Agnes Rua of MA and Sally Gouveia of San Diego; his brothers, Hohn Freitas of CT and Joseph Freitas of NJ; eight grandchildren and six great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Mass, Monday April 28, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. at 3327 Glencolum Drive, San Diego, CA 92123. Private inurnment at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Arrangements made by Balboa Cremation Services.
