Manuel was born in Pico Azores, Portugal and immigrated to the U.S. in 1958. He was a Chief Marine Engineer for over 25 years in the tuna fishing industry. He also worked as Chief Engineer at Scripps Institute of Oceanography. He held his General Contractors license for over 40 years and worked on his properties in Point Loma. He is survived by loving wife of 39 years Yvonne Domingos, daughters Mary Alice Dube (Ray) and Darlene Byrne (Jason), niece Wendy Iruegas (Rene) and sister Mary Alice Messteri. Manuel was extremely active in the Portuguese Community. He was a volunteer for the Festa do Espirito Santo for over 40 years, was a founder of the Allianca Acoreana, Past President of the Portuguese American League, an active member of the Portuguese American Social and Civic Club and Santo Amaro and a member of the San Diego Shotgun Sports Association. Services will be held Friday, June 1st, at Saint Agnes Church. Rosary will be held at 9:15 a.m. and Mass immediately following at 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
