Guy J. Bruni, 95, of San Diego, CA, and Maidstone Lake, VT, died on October 13, 2009, at Week's Medical Center in Lancaster, NH. He was born on April 14, 1917, in Cascade, NH, to Francesco and Pasquarosa (Trevisani) Bruni. In 1934, he moved to San Diego, CA, where he resided for the remainder of his life. Guy started working as a tuna fisherman on local fishing boats and later became the chief engineer on the tuna boat, Conte Bianco. He fished until 1961, at which time he became part owner of a tuna boat repair facility, National Pump and Injector, in San Diego. In 1972, he found Maidstone Lake which became his second home. He retired from his repair facility in 1989 and spent his remaining summers and autumns at their cottage at Maidstone. He enjoyed carpentry and spent his retirement years working at his hobbies and enjoying his summers at the lake. Family members include his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary (Lacombe) Bruni; two sons, Francis Bruni and Antonio Bruni and wife Mina and a daughter, Paula (Bruni) Connaghan and husband Hugh; three sisters, one brother, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Pauline (Busalacchi) Bruni; a daughter, two sisters, and three brothers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses for the repose of his soul may be offered to Fr. Joe's Villages, c/o The Children's Village, 3350 E Street; San Diego, CA 92102-3332.
