Lucy Marciel Bowker
November 30, 1915 - August 3, 2008

Lucy Marciel Bowker passed away peacefully, with all of her family by her side, on August 3, 2008. Lucy was born in Colton, California on November 30, 1915, but moved to Point Loma in 1918, where she spent the remainder of her life. Lucy was one of three daughters born to the Rogers family. Her father came from the Azores as a whaler and came to San Diego as one of the first pioneers of the fishing industry. She was a loving wife and mother to her family. Lucy is survived by her husband Chuck Bowker, her sisters Alice Qualin and Adeline Madruga as well as her son Nello Marciel (deceased) and his wife Bette, her son Charles Marciel and his wife Sandra, her daughter Mary Ann Perkins, as well as 11 grandchildren, Gregory, Lucy, Rachel, Mary Beth, Nello, Lori, David, Robbi, Gabriel, Nicole, and Richard. She is also survived by 21 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Lucy was a devoted parishioner at Saint Agnes for many years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters. For many years she was a great enthusiast of both the Padres and hockey games. She was a woman who had a great love of flowers and in her later years she would spend time just smelling her roses. She will be so greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. Services will held at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on August 7, 2008. A Rosary will proceed the Mass.
