There is no doubt in my mind that we have a thriving, supportive Portuguese-American Community! In our hundreth year of celebrating the Festa do Espirito Santo, every single fund-raiser was sold out. Attendance was spectacular. In fact, the day of the parade, it was difficult to navigate through the sea of people in the bazaar area. Thousands of people witnessed the event.

In commemoration of our centennial year, our Sociedade do Espirito Santo (S.E.S.) parternered with Lifetouch Directory and Portraits for a great offer to the Portuguese-American Community.The offer: Bring your family to the hall and have your photo taken. Not only is there no obligation to buy anything, but your family receives a free 8x10 portrait and a free Centennial Festa Commemorative Book. That's a great deal, right?

Hold on: The agreement to get the book in hard-bound version requires that at least 200 families participate. At this time, only 170 families have been photographed. That means that unless another 30 families participate, that commemorative book will be in jeopardy. Time is running short for us, and I for one would hate for us to miss out on this cool, once-in-a-lifetime commemorative book.

I've seen a good number of the photos that Lifetouch took and they did a great job. I was very impressed by the quality, color and clarity of the portraits.
